Château de Versailles

Every girls dream is become like Marie Antoinette, living in a grand palace, eat desserts without getting fat, have a new gorgeous gown everyday, buying jewelry. That's what I saw from the movie. But nobody want to end their life like her though. While most of normal people can't afford new clothes everyday like her, but at least we still can see what kind of place she stayed.

So we visited Versailles while in Paris.

Getting there
If you stayed at the centre of Paris (area that near to the main tourist attraction like the louvre, eiffel, etc) then you must buy seperate metro ticket, because the station is outside the zone 3.

The metro stop is Versailles Rive Gauche, Chateau de Versailles. From the metro you need to take a 10-15 minutes walk. Don't worry you won't get lost. There will be a lot of people going there. And again, please reach there as early as possible.

when you see this statue, you're almost there

Versailles just accross the street

We reached there at around 11am and there was already a lot of people there, like there is a strike going on. We saw lots of tourist bus, the whole car park was fulled with tourist buses. And of course there's super duper long queue on the entrance. The longest queue I've ever seen in my whole life, until I can't find where the queue start.

In this kind of situation there are 2 options, first you can be a civilized person and queue up, but maybe you'll spend half of the day only try to go in.. what a waste of time, right? Skip this option, since we don't have time.

So, we decided to do option no.2 which is become an uncivilized person and just cut queue, without being scold by anyone. I'll teach you how: Find a group of china tourist which stand not too far from the entrance. And suddenly join them. Nobody will notice, we just blend in like we're part of the group. And even if any of them scold us, we don't understand. And voila! in just 5 mins we already inside.

while they still queuing, I'm already inside taking photo
Another important reminder
Please buy your ticket before you reach here. You will save a lot of time. The ticket can be bought here http://billetterie.chateauversailles.fr/index-css5-chateauversailles-lgen-pg1.html

Which one to buy?
We bought the passport, so we can visit the Palace as well the Petit Trianon.

Once you go in, you can have tour around the estate. And see some of the rooms.

There is a Laduree shop inside the palace
The Hall of Mirrors, but cannot go in

After you finish, you can go to Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon. Please do not walk there. This castle is super ginormous, I think it's like whole city. Can fit in family of Godzilla to live here.

You can purchase a tram tickets, and the tram will bring you around the estates. I forget how much the price, but it's totally worth it. There's another option, you can rent a buggy and drive by your self. But the price is like 20 euro for 30 mins if i'm not wrong.

take the tram from somewhere around here

the chateau is like a whole city. imagine how many hdb can be built here?!

how many people lived here?!
First stop of the tram is Grand Trianon. The first thing I noticed is there is a stall selling baked potatoes.. Oh I really want!!! Faster see the palace and go eat..

Napoleon lived here at the Grand Trianon

guardian of the alley

baked potato, yumm...
After a happy tummy session, we take the tram again to go to the Petit Trianon.

There is a small Angelina cafe at the Petit Trianon, and I'm really dying to try their famous hot chocolate. Even the seller are very handsome, i can't stop look at them. Sorry can't take photo, it's too obvious, they will notice.

The hot chocolate is pricey but it's really worth. It's super thick and a bit oily but in a good way. One cup is enough to share. You can't finish one cup by your self, it will be too heavy. We also ordered bacon quiche to accompany the hot chocolate. The quiche is quite nice, comes with side salad and vinaigrette dressing.

When you visit the Petit Trianon, you MUST go to Marie Antoinette's estate. It's like a small village with magnificent view.

some tourist just laying on the grass enjoying the surroundings. plz ignore the puffer fish blowing dandelion

how come everything is so perfect like this?! Look at the sky, the cloud is so perfect

this view we normally see in painting. now i know where are those paintings inspiration comes from

perfect duck, i never think to eat it.

it's like Snow White's house

ask random tourist to help us take couple photo, but when he take the shoot i was busy looking at the ducks

there's also little farm

sakura is not only grow in Japan

looks like harry potter's whomping willow
We are already tired after walk through the estate. There's still one more stop of the tram, The Grand Canal. You can rent a boat and playing around the canal which look more like a small lake to me.

photo taken from the tram

on the way back, you'll see a man (or maybe a woman) who wrepped him self as a mummy. You can take photo with him but don't forget to pay.

beautiful garden
Ok, it's the end of Versailles tour. Oh yes, one more important thing. Versailles is the cheapest place to buy Eiffel Tower Key Chain. I forgot how much already, but try to bargain a bit, those black guy is really kind.
